skypy.halos.abundance_matching.vale_ostriker(halo_kwargs, subhalo_kwargs, galaxy_kwargs, cosmology)

Vale & Ostriker abundance matching. Generate matched arrays of (sub)halos masses and galaxy absolute magnitudes following the abundance matching model in [1].

Parameters:

halo_kwargsdict

Dictionary of keyword arguments for press_schechter.

subhalo_kwargsdict

Dictionary of keyword arguments for number_subhalos and subhalo_mass_sampler.

galaxy_kwargsdict

Dictionary of keyword arguments for schechter_lf_magnitude.

cosmologyastropy.cosmology.Cosmology

Cosmology argument for press_schechter and schechter_lf_magnitude.

Returns:

massarray_like

Array of (sub)halo masses in units of solar masses.

grouparray_like

Array of halo group ID numbers.

parentarray_like

Array of boolean values indicating if the halo is a parent.

magnitudearray_like

Array of galaxy absolute magnitudes.
